Debbie Mastel & Associates is a boutique, WBE Canada certified woman-owned HR Consulting firm. We have unique and effective solutions to recruitment hurdles. We are experienced in working in a variety of industries and have a proven track record of filling difficult to fill and critical roles using our coveted mapping and sourcing process.

Debbie Mastel

Critical Talent Specialist

Debbie Mastel is a Career Coach and Talent Acquisition Professional with experience working in house with some of Calgary’s best oil companies. She has her Bachelor of Arts degree from Augustana University College in Camrose (now University of Alberta), is a Registered Professional Recruiter and was one of less than 500 LinkedIn Certified Professional Recruiters worldwide.

She has helped hundreds of people from New Grads to the Vice President level with their career transition by applying her practical, strategic focused approach to job search. She is a Certified Laughter Yoga Leader, and enjoys spending time with her boys, Jake a Golden Retriever and Batman the bulldog. She was a member of Toastmasters and won numerous awards including first place in an Area Humorous Speech Contest.

Amber has more than 18 years of experience in managing complex service-led opportunities focused on helping clients solve their toughest business challenges. She can be described as a serial entrepreneur who has brought four business to success in both Canadian and US markets. She brings a wide breadth of experience and knowledge to the team from her strong business development background and her genuine attention to the client’s best interest.

Throughout her career, Amber has developed extensive recruitment management knowledge across a number of industries and brings significant hands-on experience in developing and implementing recruitment and HR strategies. In her role as business development manager for one of Canada’s leading career transition firms, Amber was instrumental in establishing a new search division focusing on implementing efficient recruitment processes resulting in the growth of the division to six people within a year and sales of more than $500K. With confidence, optimism and plain old fashioned grit, Amber has a passion for helping businesses with workforce challenges find relevant and immediate solutions that meet their needs.

Brenda Cullum-Shergold, RPR

Senior Recruitment Specialist

Brenda is a seasoned recruitment professional with a diverse skillset. In her role as Senior Recruitment Specialist, her focus is on supporting the needs of our clients in the corporate space to find “that perfect fit”. Brenda builds trusting relationships with candidates and clients by sharing her knowledge on the current labour market, as well as advice and guidance on recruitment, attraction and retention strategies within their organization.

Heather Park

Talent Acquisition Professional

Heather Park has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Bond University (Queensland, Australia), and a BA(Honours) from Queen’s University. She has had ten years of experience in HR, focusing on recruitment within the oil and gas industry. Heather is also a professional resume writer that designs resumes to significantly increase your chances of getting the right job, working with people from all levels and industries

Mark is an independent recruiter who places experienced technical professionals into compelling roles. He firmly believes that every candidate has a story that will land them the position.
